Description
Self Portrait! I really wanted to try to draw dirty-blond hair, so I changed my hair color.
I used HB and 6B pencils, a tortillion, and a tissue for blending.
I AM A NEW ARTIST, SO PLEASE LEAVE ME FEEDBACK ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE! THANKS!

Self portraits are a great way to practice!
Someone has already commented about working on the lighting, and I agree. Lights and shadows define the many shapes that compose the face and the hair. Perhaps, if you play with the light source in order to increase contrast, some parts of the face will be very dark, others very light, and the rest in a wide range of greys. This will make easier to see shapes and the drawing will be more interesting and realistic.
For example, in this tutorial ([link]), take a look at the bottom, about light and shadow. There's a very wide range of shadows and lights! One can do that with only one pencil, just changing the amount of pressure one apllies on the paper, but you said you did this piece with HB and 6B, that's even better! If you have a 2B and a 4B as well, it will be even easier to make many different greys.
Good job, I look forward for your next drawings!
